My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Posted on Mar 2, 2016

THEY’RE BAACK! The Portokaloses, everyone’s favorite Greek family, is back in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2002 hit romantic comedy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Now it’s Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian’s (John Corbett’s) daughter Paris (Elena Kampouris) who has fallen in love with a non-Greek. While Paris struggles to get her family to accept this young man, she also struggles to come to terms with her heritage and cultural identity. And, of course, deal with a ridiculously close family that seems to follow her everywhere.

Meanwhile, Toula and Ian’s marriage is in troubled waters. And – surprise! – the family learns that due to a long-ago clerical error, Toula’s parents, Maria (Lainie Kazan) and Gus (Michael Constantine), are not actually married. In response to this big news the family pulls together to pull off another Greek wedding, even bigger and fatter than the last.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 brings back all of the people who made the first film the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time. The film was written by Academy Award nominee Nia Vardalos, who also stars as Toula, and directed by Kirk Jones. The film also stars Gia Carides,  Joey Fatone, Ian Gomez, Louis Mandylor, Andrea Martin, Gerry Mendicino, John Stamos, Rita Wilson, and Alex Wolff. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is scheduled to be released into theaters on March 25, 2016 by Universal Pictures.
