The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Posted on Mar 17, 2016

In the science fiction film The Divergent Series: Allegiant, the first of two films based on the riveting final chapter of the Divergent trilogy, the adventure continues where The Divergent Series: Insurgent left off. The faction-based society that Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) used to believe in is in tatters. Violence and power struggles rule the land; loss and betrayal are commonplace. Now Tris and Four (Theo James) have the opportunity to escape and find out what lies beyond the wall that surrounds Chicago – and leave the only home they have ever known.

However, what they find shocks them, and new realities turn their worlds upside down. But are these new realities actually true – or is it all an illusion? Who can they trust? How can they unravel the tangled loyalties that surround them? And once they realize that the forces beyond the wall threaten the lives of everyone within the wall’s boundaries, what must they do to save everyone they love?

Based on author Veronica Roth’s best-selling Divergent series, The Divergent Series: Allegiant was directed by Robert Schwentke from a screenplay by Noah Oppenheim. The film, which is scheduled to be released into theaters and IMAX on March 18, 2016 by Summit Entertainment (Lionsgate), also stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Jeff Daniels, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jonny Weston, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim, Nadia Hilker, and Bill Skarsgård.
